The factors affecting sustainable competitive advantage in hotel enterprises, evaluation of 5- star hotels in İstanbul in terms of qualified labor force

In today's global world conditions, there is unlimited cycle of production and consumption. Due to guest satisfaction, this cycle has led to the emergence of skilled labor force, quality level and competition. Increasing technological developments, international innovations, increasing quality standarts and diversity in products and services have developed the term of competitiveness. The rapidly increasing global competition is concerned, it is inevitable that hotel enterprises with high employment power need a professionally developed (skilled) labor. Therefore, it has emerged in many studies where economic and cultural values are provided only by educated labor force. In this study, 5-star hotels in Istanbul, which produce service, have been studied to provide a sustainable competitive advantage by referring to the competition conditions, competitive strategies and strategic planning. The aim of this study, to emphasize the superiority of qualified labor force in the competition in 5-star accomodation enterprises and to contribute to the formation of qualified labor force in hospitality enterprises throughout the country in this regard. Meanwhile, the importance of qualified and educated labor force (personnel) in providing competitive advantage of hotel enterprises and the advantages of training were discussed and as a result of this study, the necessary segments in order to achieve sustainable competitive advantage of 5 star hotels in Istanbul, were processed and it was determined that qualified employee training is the most important factor in improving services and achieving competitive advantage. As qualified labor force is directly proportional to guest satisfaction, sustainable competitive advantage for the enterprise is inevitable. This increases the profitability and brand value of the enterprise in long term.
