The assessment of accommodations managements in the scope of management accounting and financial analysis

Accommodations bussiness managers, like every management, have to keep their customers? satisfaction utmost level to be able to sustain both their vitality and profits. To do so, it is necessary for them to use methods and means which will provide competitive superiority. To this end, accommodations managements need management accounting which will be able to direct the way to the future, productivity and finally need financial analysis applications in order to assess their profitability. Thus, the support of business managers through a good and strong accounting system will be able to make it possible to take correct decisions in reaching at management purposes.In our study, we have tried to show how the management accounting and financial analysis techniques should be adopted to conditions peculiar to accommodation managements and thus how it will be useful to business managements. In this connection, the study composed of three parts.In the first part, tourism sector and accommodations managements are defined, classified and given information about their organizational structures. In the second part, basic information is given about management accounting and financial analysis and tried to be given overall drafts. In the third part, different features of accommodations managements are firstly given. Afterwards, ratio analysis which is the basic technique of financial analysis is mentioned. Here, taking the features of accommodations managements into consideration, we tried to show how to make use of ratios in determining their costs and measuring their performances.
