Abstract (EN)
World energy regulation changes have heavily affected the domestic refrigeration industry. In the literature, there are many studies on improving the performance and reducing the energy consumption of domestic cooling systems from different perspectives such as optimizations on refrigerant type, optimization of refrigerant amount and capillary length, improvements in evaporator and condenser geometry, and various applications to enhance the defrost performance. In this study, the effects of two different condenser fan types (axial and box fan), three different fan speeds (800, 1200, 1600 rpm) and three different refrigerant amounts (40, 44, 48 g) on the performance of a domestic deep freezer were experimentally investigated. In this study, which was carried out within the scope of energy consumption reduction studies on household refrigerator/freezer and function systems, a single-door freezer compartment, single evaporator and compressor, 70 cm wide and 420 liters gross volume and R600a as refrigerant was used. In all experiments, VNTZ130 model hermetic type compressor with a COP of 1.75 according to ASHRAE standards was preferred. The capillary tube that provides the throttling process in the refrigeration cycle is made of copper with a total length of 3000 mm and an inner diameter of 0.66 mm. The combination with the lowest energy consumption was found to be the axial condenser fan with a condenser fan speed of 1600 rpm and 44 grams of refrigerant.
