Abstract (EN)
Retrospective investigation of anemia and serum pro-BNP levels in hospital mortality, hospitalization time and morbidity in congestive heart failure patients Heart failure is the major cause of morbidity and mortality in cardiovascular diseases. In 2012, over 2 million heart failure (HF) in the study carried out in Turkey HAPPY patients lives. Heart failure is the condition of the heart's inability to send the blood needed to meet the body's oxygen and metabolic needs to the tissues of the heart. As a biochemical marker, ventricular-induced pro-BNP gives an important clue in the diagnosis stage. Retrospective, single-center study was carried out in a third stage hospital. Our study; Between January 1, 2016 and November 30, 2018, BNP, anemia panel and other routine blood parameters are available for all adult patients older than 18 years of age who have been admitted to the Internal Medicine and Cardiology Clinic of Adıyaman University Training and Research Hospital. The mean age of the patients was 65.28 ± 12.1 years (23-87 years old). 62.2% of the patients included in the study were male (n = 56) and 37.8% (n = 34) were female. The mean duration of hospital was 4.97 ± 2.43 days (range 2-14 days). According to the etiology of CHF, 74 (82%) of our patients were due to ischemic heart disease, 15 (17%) were due to heart valve disease and 1 (1.1%) were related to congenital heart disease. In our study, the anemia prevalence was 52.2%. The mean hgb of HF patients with anemia was 10.3 mg / dl. The hospitalization period of the group with anemia was 4.51 / day. Non-cardiac comorbidity was present in 98.9% of the patients. The most comorbid disease was HT (67.54%), then DM (24.569, KRG (5.26), COPD (2.63), respectively. Death during hospitalization was 2.2%, and death for the first month after discharge was 5.7%.
