Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, four different monomers including 1-phenyl-2,5-di(2- thienyl)pyrrole, 9-phenanthrenyl-2,5-di(2-thienyl)pyrrole, 1-pyrenyl-2,5-di(2- thienyl)pyrrole and 6-chrysenyl-2,5-di(2-thienyl)pyrrole were synthesized by chemically. The characterization of the obtained molecules was carried out by 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopic methods. Copolymers of monomers with pyrrole and polypyrrole were polymerized electrochemically in an ethanol solution containing 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBABF4) dopant on the surface of the pencil graphite (PG) working electrode using chronocoulometry (CC) method. The surface analysis of all modified pencil graphite electrodes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The capacitive properties of the synthesized conductive copolymer and polypyrrole modified PG electrodes were investigated by using cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD) methods in the 1 M sulfuric acid (H2SO4) electrolyte solution. According to obtained experimental results, the capacitance values of the modified PG electrodes were calculated. Copolymers have been found to have better electrochemical properties and higher capacitance values when compared to PG electrodes modified with polypyrrole. Keywords: Conducting polymer, Copolymer, Electrochemical polymerization, Galvanostatic charge-discharge, Supercapacitor.
