Abstract (EN)

Contemporary Turkish Music is an important genre of music, which represents the colours and originality of our nation, and which should be included in conservatory education. This study inquires on whether Contemporary Turkish Contrabass Music possesses the attributes necessary to be included in curriculums for contrabass education in conservatories; and to which extent Contemporary Turkish Contrabass Music pieces are included in the contrabass education given in our conservatories. The aim is to contribute to the development of Contemporary Turkish contrabass Music and its education, in light of data established with scientific accuracy and reliability. Contemporary Turkish Music composers and their works have been studied; those composed for the contrabass and which can constitute a Contemporary Turkish Contrabass Music pool have been selected. The addition of these works to the education and contrabass concert repertoires, will contribute to the the union of students who receive contrabass education with the instrument, by performing works that embody the colours of their nation; and to the widespread recognition of Contemporary Turkish Contrabass Music.
