Teacher attitudes towards ongoin chamber music classes at the conservatories

The goal of this study is to evaluate the general and actual conditions of the classes through analyzing teachers' attitudes towards chamber music classes which are conducted in conservatory and in the light of obtained information to suggest solutions for encountered problems in order to make the classes more functional. The research is a descriptive study which is based on survey model. The phases of the research; conservatories that educate polyphonic music in Turkey; the sample is formed by volunteer and available teachers who conduct chamber music classes at the undergraduate level of conservatories. For this research, the data required was collected by structured interview form and likertl scale. Through the interview form, the data obtained was analyzed and interpreted benefiting from qualitative research techniques, through the likertl scale- the data obtained was interepreted as frequency (f) and percent (%). As a result of analysis, significant problems appeared such as ongoing chamber music classes show the differences according to each institutions, the classes are generally focused on the instrument/branch, the number of the expert educators isn't sufficient, chamber music classes are started tardy in conservatories which don't have primary and high school level education, the students' groups aren't formed in a balanced manner; solutions were suggested for these encountered problems.
