Abstract (EN)
This study investigates the psychological resilience and self-efficacy levels of adolescents living in container settlements after the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, in relation to various demographic variables. The research was conducted using a quantitative method within the framework of a descriptive survey model. The population of the study consists of adolescents residing in container cities in the province of Kahramanmaraş, while the sample includes a total of 268 adolescents (124 girls and 144 boys) aged 14 to 17, living in container areas in the districts of Onikişubat and Dulkadiroğlu. Data were collected using the "Psychological Resilience Scale for Adolescents", the "Self-Efficacy Scale for Children", and a "Personal Information Form". For the analysis of the data, t-tests, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis H test, Spearman rank-order correlation, and Pearson correlation analyses were conducted. According to the findings, psychological resilience and self-efficacy levels of adolescents did not show statistically significant differences based on variables such as gender, age, number of siblings, experience of close loss, or parental education levels. However, a statistically significant difference was found in psychological resilience scores in relation to fathers' education levels. The most noteworthy finding of the study was the statistically significant and moderately positive correlation between psychological resilience and self-efficacy. This suggests that adolescents with higher levels of self-efficacy also tend to be more resilient when coping with stress.
