Konyali Mehmed Vehbi̇ Efendi's understanding of Godhead

There are several reasons for deviations in mankind's understanding of God, such as making their personal desires their god, that a true understanding of God does not fit into their own agenda, and simply not having an innate sense of the divine reality. Whichever the reason, people insist on their mistakes and deviations although many prophets and books were sent to correct them. This is certainly an upsetting situation and a reality to deeply reflect on. In this work, I aim to analyze various understandings of Godhead in general and the understanding of Mehmed Vehbi Efendi in particular. Mehmed Vehbi Efendi tries to explain his thoughts through intellectual evidence by following the traditional path, using examples from scholars of creed and philosophers. With the purpose of proving the existence of the almighty God, he persistently stresses the fact that the universe is a choice of God who does what he desires, then supports his views with verses from the Qur'an to prove them.
