Özet (EN)
PURPOSE: In this study we aimed to compare the data acquired from analysis of some of the arterial blood gas parameters of the patients undergone open heart surgery by the blood gas analyser devices with solutions and blood gas analyser devices with optical sensors.MATERIAL AND METHOD: 30 patients undergone open heart surgery with 40-85 years of ages were included in this study. Postoperatively at time zero and 24th. hour arterial blood gas samples of patients were taken. The same sample was examined by both blood gas analysers with optical sensor (a) and with solution (b). The data were compared. The values of p<0.05 were accepted significant.RESULTS: Among the compared parameters obtained from blood gas analyser with optical sensor and blood gas analyser with solution, no statistical difference was determined either than bicarbonate values at time zero, (p>0.05). Among the data obtained at 24th. hour significant difference was observed between potassium, bicarbonate, and pH data, (p<0.05).CONCLUSION: Analysis of arterial blood gases have an important role in the management, and follow up of the patients undergoing open heart surgery. The methods that can be prefered are growing with ongoing time, and increasing numbers of new developments in medicine. We think that the accurate, fast, and the practical analysis of arterial blood gases will have a favorable effect on mortality and morbidity.
