Abstract (EN)
Aim: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between pain, kinesiophobia, and discharge readiness in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Materials and Methods: The population of the descriptive and correlational study consisted of patients who underwent coronary artery bypass graft surgery in the University Research and State Hospital in Ordu province, and the sample consisted of 110 patients who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using Personal Information Form, Visual Analog Scale, Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale, and Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale between December 30, 2023 and May 20, 2024. Descriptive statistics, Independent Groups t test, Mann Whitney U test, analysis of variance, Kruskall Wallis test, Pearson and Spearman Correlation test, and regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The significance value of the data was accepted as p<0.05. Results: The patients' mean VAS score was 0.55±0.83, mean Kinesiophobia score was 44.85±4.55 and mean Readiness for Discharge score was 7.62±0.70. There was a statistically significant, positive and low-level relationship between the Visual Analog Scale score and the Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale score (r=0.407, p<0.05). There was a statistically significant, negative and low-level relationship between the Visual Analog Scale score and the Readiness for Discharge Scale scores (r=-337, p<0.05). There was a statistically significant, negative and low-level relationship between the mean total score of the Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale and the mean total score of the Readiness for Discharge Scale (r=-417, p<0.05). Conclusions: A significant relationship was determined between pain, kinesiophobia, and readiness for discharge in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery. As the pain levels of the patients increased, fear of movement increased and readiness for discharge decreased. Keywords: Coronary artery bypass surgery, postoperative pain, kinesiophobia, patient discharge, nursing care
