Özet (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the effects of standard and individualized video-assisted discharge education given to patients after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery on patient satisfaction and anxiety levels. Before starting the research, ethical approval was obtained from Hasan Kalyoncu University and relevant health institutions. The study was conducted on 120 patients who had undergone CABG surgery in the Cardiovascular Surgery departments of Gaziantep Dr. Ersin Arslan Training and Research Hospital and Gaziantep City Hospital. Patients were randomized into three groups: control group, standard video-assisted education group, and individualized video-assisted education group. Data collection tools included the Introductory Information Form, Patient Satisfaction with Education Scale, and the STAI State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software. A p-value of <0.05 was accepted for statistical significance. The demographic and clinical characteristics, anxiety, and satisfaction levels of patients in the standard video group, individualized video group, and control group were compared. The findings showed that the demographic and health characteristics of the groups were homogeneous (p>0.05). There was no significant difference in pre-education state and trait anxiety scores (p>0.05). Post-education, the anxiety scores of patients in the individualized video group were lower (p=0.001) and their satisfaction levels were higher (p=0.001) compared to the other groups. Furthermore, it was found that as education satisfaction increased, state anxiety decreased in all three groups (p=0.001). This study demonstrated that video-assisted discharge education after coronary artery bypass graft surgery increases patient satisfaction and reduces anxiety levels. The highest satisfaction and lowest anxiety scores were obtained in the individualized video group. Therefore, the use of video-assisted methods for discharge education is recommended. Keywords: Coronary Artery Bypass, Patient Education, Video-Assisted Education, Patient Satisfaction. Anxiety.
