Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between fear of movement, physical performance and health-related quality of life in individuals with Coronary Artery Disease. A total of 52 individuals who were diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease participated in the study. Demographic characteristics, clinical features of the disease and laboratory values were recorded. The level of fear of movement were measured by Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia for Heart (TSK-H). Physical performance were assessed by 6 Minute Walk Test (6 MWT), 5 Times Sit To Stand Test and Timed Up and Go Test. The Cardiovascular Limitations and Symptoms Profile (CLASP) was used to assess health-related quality of life. %82,7 of the individuals had a high level of fear of movement. Their physical performance was found to be low and health-related quality of life was mildly affected. A significant relationship was found between fear of movement and all physical performance assessments and health-related quality of life (p<0,05). A significant relationship was found between Timed Up and Go Test and 6 MWT and health-related quality of life (p<0,05). However, no relationship was found between 5 Times Sit to Stand Test and health-related quality of life (p>0,05).As the fear of movement increases in individuals with Coronary Artery Disease, their physical performance and health-related quality of life decrease. Prevention of fear of movement in this patient group should be included in cardiac rehabilitation programs.
