Abstract (EN)

Aim: It was demonstrated that Angiotensinogen M235T and ACE I/D gene polymorphism is a independent risk factor in both ischaemic and hemorrhogic stroke.Craniocervikal arterial dissection is a major cause of ischaemic stroke in young adults.The aim of this study was to demostrate if Angiotensinogen M23T and angiotensin-converting enzyme insertion/deletion gene polymorphisims are an dependent risk factor for ischemic stroke or not. Material and method: Between January 2010 ? May 2013, we investigated the relationship of the ACE insertion/deletion and M235T gene polymorphism in 63 patients with a diagnosis of craniocervikal arterial dissection and a control group of 100 healthy human volunteers. ACE insertion/deletion gene polymorphism genotypes II, ID and DD were evaluated and M235T gene polymorphism genotypes MM, MT and TT were evaluated in patients and voluteers. Real time PCR was used for genotyping. Result:The genotype frequencies for II, ID, and DD were 6.3, 54, 39.7 % respectively in the patient group and were 51, 29, 20 % the control group (p<0.05). in the patient group, DD and ID genotype rate were sinificantly high as statically in comparision with control group. However, MM genotype were higher in control group. The genotype frequencies for MM and MT were ; 12.7, 63.5 % respectively, in the patient group and in control group were 46, 33 % (p<0.05). The genotype frequencies for TT was 23.8 % in the patient group and 21 % in the control group. (p<0.05). Conclusion: İn this study, statistically significant difference was found in the development of Craniocervikal arterial dissection . the results showed that ACE DD, DI and M35T MT genotypes related to the risk of arterial dissection with this polymorphism. The results of our study were thought that in people having ACE DD, ID and AGT MT, the CAD diseksiyon were higher.
