Comparison of crypto market news in terms of television and YouTube content

Nowadays, relevance of cryptocurrency market rises all over the earth. Individuals begin to need much more information in order to make effective decision. Therefore, value changes about cryptocurrency and information flow that can affect the market are followed closely by news media. In order to eliminate lack of information about the market, newscasts about cryptocurrency market are organized by economy channels on television. Moreover, social media channels become alternative news source. People who are not an expert of market, make investment on market and want to share their advice to other people becomes a part of production process of news by new media. Moreover, the contents of cryptocurrency market on social media differs from traditional television economy channels. In this study it is aimed that different points of time, content and role about effect to decide investment of newscast of economy channels on television and cryptocurrency contents that are produced on YouTube social media platform. In this regard, cryptocurrency newscasts on television and contents about cryptocurrency on YouTube channels analyzed for one month duration in this study. Top three YouTube channels which produce contents about cryptocurrency and have highest level of interaction, integrated in to sample. In this study, method of thematic analyze is used for qualitative research method. Contents transferred to MAXQDA 2022 program and codification is made after related contents uncovered. The comparision of themes that acquired from the codification and questions of this study, is made with hermeneutic approach. In accordance with data of this study, it is concluded that YouTube is a social media which information transfer is made about investment strategies and analyze techniques of cryptocurrency and is an intermediary between investor and people demanded information about investment.
