Abstract (EN)

Money and the types of money have been considered by many scientific circles and an explanation has been tried to be made in the most accurate, reasonable, logical, acceptable and consistent with the world of use. The definitions and explanations made are on the changes in the historical course of money and the purposes of its use. Cryptocurrencies, which are a type of money that takes on different forms in the globalizing world, constitute the backbone of our study. With the digitalization of money in today's world, societies have used crypto money for different purposes. Considering these different purposes, it is seen that some societies use cryptocurrencies for investment purposes while some societies use for daily needs and trade. Thus, cryptocurrencies, which have become widespread with digitalization, have direct and indirect positive and negative effects on investor behavior. In this study, the what and how of money and crypto money is emphasized, its historical adventure and development are expressed, crypto money platforms used in the world and in Türkiye are included and the effect of cryptocurrencies on investor behavior is tried to be expressed. In addition, the differences between blockchain technology and distributed ledger technology, which are widely misunderstood and often used interchangeably in the literature, have been tried to be explained with examples. While evaluating all these data, both theory and practice were used. While the data passed through literal filter were used in the theory phase, the survey study for different occupational groups in Erzurum City Center was used in the application part. In the last part of the research, solutions for how cryptocurrencies should be accounted for are presented and tried to be detailed with examples.
