Salafism from crisis teology to revolutionary ideology salafi movements in Egypt, Pakistani and Tunisia

Salafism emerged as a conservative and traditionalist way of thinking and religious interpratation method, follows the guidance of first three generations (salaf) of İslam. It has become a modern political ideology because of religious, political and social crises İslamic societies had confronted since 19th century. Salafism has become the reference of political and religious movements and global jihad movements founded during the mid-20th century by elaborating İslam as a total ideology provides solutions for all issues and problems. In addition, Salafism offers ideological background for actors; both political parties and armed organizations have appeared with the Arab Spring. In this study, we will investigate Salafism fact as a political ideology and politicization process of Salafism through the Salafi movements in Egypt, Pakistani and Tunisia.
