Abstract (EN)

This study investigates the effects of charismatic leadership in crisis management and quantitatively evaluates the impact of this leadership style on organizational performance and employees' responses to crises, using a case study of a public institution. The research aims to elucidate how charismatic leadership influences employee motivation, adaptability during crises, and overall job satisfaction. This thesis addresses the impact of charismatic leadership on the performance of a public institution during crises from both conceptual and practical perspectives. The responses from semi-structured interviews conducted with employees of the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation of Yıldırım District demonstrate that charismatic leaders, who are effective, keep abreast of current developments, and possess strong communication skills, have a significantly greater positive impact on employees during pre-crisis, crisis, and post-crisis phases compared to any negative effects. This thesis proposes that charismatic leadership is a critical factor contributing to the success of employees and organizations in the context of crisis management and suggests that this leadership style can be utilized to develop more effective crisis response strategies in public institutions. The thesis also discusses the potential risks and limitations of charismatic leadership and offers recommendations for future research. Keywords: Crisis, Crisis management, Charismatic leadership, Leadership styles
