Abstract (EN)
This study has been planned and implemented as a descriptive research in order to determine the mode of delivery preferences of pregnant women who applied to state hospitals in the center and districts of Kırklareli and the factors affecting these preferences. The sample consisted of 188 pregnant women whose written and verbal consent was obtained. "Socio-Demographic Information Form", "Obstetric History Form" and "Melbourne Decision-Making Styles Scale I-II", the validity and reliability study of which was done by Deniz (2004), were used to collect the data. IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program was used for statistical analysis of the obtained data. The frequencies and percentages of the obtained data and descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation values) are given. In addition, it was investigated whether there is a statistically significant relationship between "delivery type preferences and socio-demographic characteristics, obstetric characteristics, MKVÖ I-II Levels" of pregnant women. "Chi-Square Test of Independence" and "Rank Double Series Correlation" were used to determine these relations. The significance level of 5% was taken as the basis for all hypothesis tests. The ages of the pregnant women included in the study were between 19-39 years (27.45±4.98). 44,7% of the pregnant women prefer the vaginal delivery method and 55,3% prefer the cesarean delivery method. 25,5% of the pregnant women are undergraduate graduates and 27,7% of them are woking. 72,9% of pregnant women live in nuclear family. 84% of the pregnant women have a planned pregnancy and 88.8% of them go to their follow-ups regularly. 21,22% of pregnant women stated that they preferred cesarean delivery with the thought of not risking the baby. 17,12% of pregnant women stated that they preferred vaginal delivery for economic reasons. 77,7% of pregnant women think that they and their spouses should decide on the mode of delivery. The mean score of the Melbourne Decision-Making Styles Scale-I was calculated as 7.82 ± 3.87. It is recommended to give the necessary training to the pregnant women in line with their needs and to examine the preferred mode of delivery.
