İnvestigation of the effect of spinal decomression treatment on pain and function in patient with chronic low back pain

Özet (EN)

Aim of the study investigating effects of DRX-9000 Spinal Decompression device to reduce back pain and disability improve quality of life. 18-65 aged 39 patients who had chronic low back pain participated the study. 19 patients were included in control grup and 20 patients were included in study group randomly. Pre-treatment, during and post-treatment several assesments were applied. There was Macgill Melzack Pain Questionnaire (MPQ), Algometer Pressure Pain Thereshold, Oswestry Disability İndex (ODİ), Modified Schober Test, Fingertips to Floor Test (FTF) and Laseque and SF-36 Guality of Life Guestionnaire. 5 days of in first two weeks 30 minutes Spinal Decompression, Tens Stimulation, hotpack and ultrasound is apllied to study group. 3 days of second two weeks and two days of last two weeks these treatments were applied also. Until 6 weeks, 30 minutes tens application, Hotpack, and US were applied to control group. According the results of the study; when we evaluate the gropus pre, mid and post treatment within themselves; results of MPQ decreased similarly for both groups after mid-treatments (p<0,05). In the study group pain sensitivity started to decrease significantly at determined point strating from the middle of treatment (p<0,05). This development is seen end of the treatment at control group (p<0,05). FTF and Laseque scores started to develop since mid-treatment at study group (p<0,05). FTF and Laseque was similiar for both groups(p<0,05). ODİ and M. Schober results decreased simliarly for both groups (p<0,05) Except of general health all sub-parameters of SF-36 showed development for both groups (p<0,05). General Health sub-parameter showed development at study group from mid-treatment to post treatment (p<0,05). When we comparison the groups; Although, there were meaningfully development in mid-treatments, end of the treatments both groups reutls was similar (p<0,05). İn conlusion; we think that DRX-9000 Spinal Decompression Device effective to decrease pain in a short time.
