Effect Amount of Food Intake On Blood Pressure Of Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease During Hemodialysis Procedure Objective: This study was presented to diagnose the effect of food intake the blood pressure levels of patients with chronic kidney disease during hemodialysis procedure. Materials and Methods: The research includes 62 patients who receive hemodialysis treatment in Istanbul. The groups were formed according to the amount of the food intake of patients. To collect the data, "the socio-demographic properties form" and "the tracing form" were used and analyzed. Findings: It was observed that, compared to the levels prior to the hemodialysis, the systolic blood pressure during the treatment decreased from 123,61 to 109,40 mmHg in the first group, from 138,99 to 115,15 mmHg in the second group and from 134,68 to 121,32 mmHg in the third group. A tendency of decrease in the blood pressure after food intake was observed in all three groups. It was also observed that food intake hour during the hemodialysis lead to differences in the blood pressure changes. The systolic blood pressure levels in the first hour of food intake decreased by 14,08 mmHg in the patients who were in the first 30 minutes, by 23,07 mmHg in those who were in the first 30 minutes to one hour, whereas in the patients whose food intake took place after one hour, the systolic blood pressure levels decreased by 7,25 mmHg .This study indicates that the interdialysis weight gain does not affect the blood pressure decrease. Result: It is advised that food intake of patients regarding the intradialytic hypertension risk during hemodialysis should be reduced and should not be given in the first hour of hemodialysis treatment.
