Treatment Compliance at Chronic Psychosis Patients and the Evaluation of theFactors Related with the Treatment ComplianceDr. Ayşegül KOÇAbstractThis research includes 150 patience that have diagnosis of schizophrenia andschizoaffective disorder at least for two year according to DSM-IV-TR (APA 2000)and have been taking the same medication at least for a month, between the agerange of 18-65, who applied by standing and hospitalized at psychiatry polyclinic ofGazi Health, Research and Applied Hospital. After evaluating the demographic andclinic conditions of the patience in detail, SANS, SAPS, IGD, CGI, UKU, SAIE,SDÖT, KAM, McEvoy Treatment Follow-up Test, ANT and MARS are applied.In the research, the study of validity and reliability for medication compliancerate scale (MARS) and attendance of neouroleptic test have done and a schema oftreatment compliance has developed which includes these two scales. Whileevaluating the compliance with this schema the results have similarities with follow-up study of CATIE. This situation reveals that this developed schema is usable andreflects the reality as well as a follow-up study.Patience is divided into groups as have compliance and have not compliancewith the help of the schema for determining the factors related with treatmentcompliance. According to this, rarity of insight, strength of positive and negativesymptoms, neurocognitive ruinate, low education level of the patience, strength of theillness and low level of general functionality are the findings of factors that are relatedwith discordance. It is found that the factors like age, sexuality, marital status,parents? education level, identity of the person who cares the patience, educationlevel of caring person, profession, seeing the doctor regularly, side effects ofmedication, type of the medication and the type of using medication are not effectiveon compliance.
