The study aimed to adaptation of the Camberwell Assessment of Need Short Apprasial Schedule / Self-rated version to Turkish and to test the validity and reliability in individuals with severe mental disorders.The study is methodologically designed. The sample was taken from 111 individuals with severe mental disorders between the ages of 18-65. The gathering of the data was done by two interviews. In both interviews, the CANSAS was evaluated by the researcher and the participant completed the CANSAS-P. In addition, the participants completed the CANSAS on both meeting. The CANSAS was also assessed by the observer at the first meeting. For the individuals with severe mental disorders, the content validity index of CANSAS and CANSAS-P was found to be 0,84. The explanatory factor analysis, the CANSAS and CANSAS-P were found to be significant respectively KMO values 0,68 and 0,65 Barlett Test, χ²: 1224,660 and χ²: 797,257. The confirmatory factor analysis of the CANSAS and CANSAS-P, the compliance indices were found to acceptable at RMSEA 0.075 and 0.054. The CANSAS compliance analysis between independent observers found a total need of Kappa value of 0.621. For parallel form reliability, two form need levels were found to between 0,431 and 0,936. It was indicated that the adaptation of CANSAS and CANSAS-P to Turkish is valid and reliable in individuals with severe mental disorders. It is recommended that tools be used to assess the needs of individuals with severe mental disorders, used community-based mental health services.
