Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study named to "Analysis of the Creation and Transformation of Femininity Identities through the Discourses of Women Living in Rural Areas: Example Of Karaköy Neighborhood Of Akhisar District Of Manisa Province" to reveal the intergenerational transfer of the patriarchal culture that prevails in the creation of femininity and masculinity identities of women living in the rural areas through the discourses of women, to understand the similarities and differences related to discourses. Based on the purpose of the study, this analysis conducted within the scope of the thesis is considered important in uncovering the problems faced by women living in rural areas due to patriarchy and gender-based discriminatory practices and in creating solution policies. In this context, in the research dimension of the study, data were collected by in-depth interview technique in accordance with the semi-structured form prepared by scanning the relevant literature, and feminist methodology was used in the analysis of the data. The data of the study, in which a qualitative approach was used in order to thoroughly examine research problems, was supported by a socio-demographic question form created in accordance with the literature. Field research is designed in two stages. In the first stage, data on the socio-demographic structures of women were obtained through the "Socio-Demographic Interview Form", and in the second stage, data on women were obtained through the "Semi-Structured Interview form". Semi-structured interviews were conducted with mothers living in Karaköy Neighborhood Of Akhisar District Of Manisa and married daughters of mothers with 16 women, 8 women from the first generation and 8 women from the second generation. At the qualitative stage of the research, the effect of patriarchal discourses, which are determined and guiding in the expression of everyday life, maintaining relationships within the home and in the public sphere, on the identification, transformation and experience between generations of femininity and masculinity were revealed, and the findings of the study were analysized within the framework of thematic analysis. As a result of the research; in the discourses that define the femininity and masculinity identities of the first generation and second generation women living in the Karaköy Neighborhood and their experiences; findings showing that there are intergenerational differentiations in the discourses of women living in rural areas on the control of the female body, fertility and sexuality and the theme of social mobility have been reached.
