Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this thesis is to reveal the transformations of the usage of women's labor in a country like Turkey, where agricultural product production is diverse, with women's own experiences. It is a fact that women are at a disadvantage due to the problems they face, especially in the agricultural sector, where unregistered work is the most intense. The fact that houses and agricultural land are intertwined in rural areas and that the presence of women in agricultural production is an extension of the work they undertake at home is the biggest reason for their invisible labor. Although there are many studies on the working life of women in the literature, studies directly on women in the agricultural sector are still not sufficient. Although various studies in the field are related to the problems of agricultural workers, research on women's labor and gender perspective has not been directly addressed. From this point of view, the research reveals the unequal position of rural women in Manisa Province Karayenice Village and their own experiences in the use of labor in agriculture. In the research, in-depth interviews were conducted with women and men from 20 families, using a quota sample, according to the qualitative research design of theorizing, within the framework of a semi-structured interview form. Within the framework of the questions asked during the interview, answers were received about the agricultural activities of women, their responsibilities within and outside the household and gender relations. At the end of the study, evaluations and suggestions regarding the unequal position and labor use of rural women were presented.
