Determination of some fruit characteristics of hawthorn genotypes naturally growed in Kırşehir (Boztepe) region

This study was carried out on hawthorn genotypes in Boztepe district of Kırşehir province in 2021-2022. In order to determine the genotypes that may be of superior quality according to the selection criteria from the region where thousands of plants are located, pre-selection was made in September according to the fruit characteristics and 50 genotypes were determined. Fruit samples from these genotypes selected for pomological analysis were taken in October (harvest time). Intepomological analysis; fruit weight, fruit aspect length, fruit pulp ratio, number of seeds, seed weight, seed length, fruit skin color, fruit shape, fruit outer hairiness, soluble solids content (SÇKM), total dry matter, titratable acidity ( TA) and pH values were determined. Fruit weights of genotypes are between 0.89 g and 2.79 g, fruit width between 12.33 mm and 18.89 mm, fruit length between 10.77 mm and 16.01 mm, SÇKM content between 4.2% and 19.3% and between 49% and 90% of the total dry matter content. According to the findings, 9 genotypes were determined to be promising.
