Determination of the factors affecting agricultural pesticide uses status with plant protection problems of cereals producers in the district of Mucur in Kırşehir

In this study, plant protection problems and the pesticide use of producers was examined in Mucur district of Kırşehir, where the intensive cereal productions. The aim of this study was to determine the criteria for giving the decision for plant protection problems management in cereal production by producers, sources of identification of plant diseases, pest and weed, the pesticide use habits, predisposition to mix of pesticide, and environmental and human health sensitivity. In this study, data were collected from 108 cereal producers by survey methods. According to data, producers decide to manage the pests, diseases or weed problems when they see in the fields; they receive the most important information about diagnosis of plant protection problems as a source of assistance from expert such as plant protections products dealers, agricultural engineers, plant protections products companies; 69.44% of the producers are fully complying with the recommended dose when using pesticides; producers are inclined to use pesticide by mixing; this is due to the fact that they are willing to reduce costs and to control several pests, diseases or weeds at the same time.
