Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the average annual electricity consumption of a house being calculated; in order to supply this need in an area where network cannot reach some mechanical calculations such as modifying the required turbine force and storing system being done. The determination of the most economical turbine as well as the evaluation of the cost of the required turbine to supply the need also being performed, here it is stated how long it will take to pay back these costs of the supplied electrical energy.Determination of main parameters of wind; these being wind speed and wind direction; is necessary in order to define the energy that can be acquired by a wind turbine. In this study, done for Izmir, in 2006 in Izmir region 21 m long wind measurement data having been obtained, depending on this measurement data the wind speeds at 30 m and 40 m are calculated. Moreover, based on this data, the wind force at 21 m, 30 m and 40 m, the theoretical and maximum force values to be produced by 2 kW, 3 kW, and 5 kW turbines are individually calculated and according to these values the efficiency of wind turbines is determined. The cost of these turbines also taken into consideration, the choice of the economical turbine that can provide the electrical energy need of a house in an area disconnected from the network by means of autonomous wind energy cycle system being done, the annual energy quantity to be produced by the compared turbines at 21 m, 30 m and 40 m height is also figured out.As a result of this study, the calculated amount of electrical energy of a house which is settled in İzmir region can be provided economically by a 3 kW turbine. Keywords: Electricity Energy, Autonomous Cycle System, Wind Energy, Wind Turbine
