Abstract (EN)

The Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) has become important for all economies in the world. SMEs face a lot of problems originating from their structural features and economical situations. The financial problems of SMEs is one of the most problems. The objective of this thesis is to analyse financial problems SMEs and the determinants of financial preferences of SMEs in the province of Afyonkarahisar. This study consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, after focusing on the definitions, features, advantages and disadvantages of SMEs, It has been given information about the importance of SMEs in the country economies and Turkey?s economy. It has been explained general problems, financial problems and financial sources of SMEs and organisation which granted a subsidy to SMEs in the second chapter. The third chapter includes the findings of a research on the determination of financial problems and financial preferences of SMEs existing in Afyonkarahisar province. Face to face interview method of qualitative research was used in this survey and the data of the survey is analysed with SPSS.
