Tokat-Erbaa example in terms of cultural geography

There are cultural movements in Erbaa and its surrounding villages that still maintain their originality according to the globalizing world. In this thesis study, investigations were carried out in the city center of Erbaa and the nearby villages of Kale, Üzümlü, Tanoba, Akça, Gökal, Osmanköy, Keçeci villages. In the first part of the study, the physical geography elements of the Erbaa region were discussed. In the second part, the elements of human and social geography belonging to the region were examined. In the third part, the material culture elements (geographical appearance, clothing habits, eating and drinking culture) for the military men and their villages were examined. In the fourth part, the spiritual cultural elements of the region (such as birth, wedding, death) are included. A literature survey was conducted on material cultural items and photographs were taken using the gezi observation method. On the other hand, the elements were examined on their spiritual cultural elements through the literature survey, sightseeing observation and interview forms. Since this study is the first thesis that deals with the material and spiritual cultural elements of the Erbaa city center and the surrounding villages from a geographical point of view, it holds an important place in terms of contributing to the literature. The phenomenon of people and space is the most important factor in the emergence of cultural heritage. It is important to address the different cultural elements in the field of study in this respect. This work, which is the product of two years of time, is an important resource for individuals who want to research the cultural elements of Erbaa and the surrounding villages.
