Abstract (EN)

Dictionaries are among the most important sources that encompass the lexicon of a language as used during a particular time and within a specific region, reflecting the history of the people to whom the language belongs, as well as the geographical boundaries, lifestyle, culture, and all other inherent values and data. In this thesis, the lexicon of historical Kipchak Turkish, as documented in the Codex Cumanicus and in dictionaries and glossaries compiled within the Mamluk Kipchak region, has been systematically collected to create a comprehensive Kipchak Turkish lexicon. This collected lexicon has been further divided into basic and foreign lexical items, which have then been classified according to conceptual fields. As a result, not only has the lexicon of a specific period been identified, but it has also been organized based on conceptual domains. The aim is to serve as a resource for future studies, to reveal the nature and richness of the vocabulary of the period, to contribute to contemporary conceptual field studies, and to provide a valuable source for Turkish language research. Keywords: The Vocabulary of Kipchak Turkish, Conceptual Field Classification, Kipchak Dictionaries and Works.
