Abstract (EN)

THE RESEARCH OF PROPOLİS? EFFECTİVENESS ON EXPERİMENTAL RATS HAVİNG BLUNT THORAX TRAUMA AND ISOLATED BİLATERAL LUNG CONTUSİON.INTRODUCTION: Trauma cases admitted tothe emergency department, create25% ofthoracic trauma. Majority of patientswith thoracic trauma, rib fracturesand lungcontusiondevelops. ? Majorthoracic traumain 30-75%of lungcontusionresultinghigh mortality and morbidityis a seriousinjury. Until recently, Turkishpropolisantibacterial,antifungal, antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, some biologicalactivities, such as wound healingwas investigated.In our study,the use ofpropolis inthe lungcontusion, we aimed to investigatethe effects ofcontusionofthe lung.MATERIALS and METHODS:In the study, 61 male Sprague Dawley rats were used. Except for the sham and control groups, other groups isolated lung contusion was created by applying blunt chest trauma. Severity of trauma, 1,5 joules respectively.Propolis group, after the application of blunt chest trauma 1, 2 and 3 day ip 300 mg / kg was given EPE.Contusiongroup, only applied toblunt chest trauma. Groups in, 0, 1, 2 and 3rd day in goodblood gases,tissuemyeloperoxidase, catalase, results of histopathological examinationof lungtissue and wet / drylungweightswere recorded.DIAGNOSES:After trauma, 7 (11%) rats, the mortality. The pH value of the Sh group, were lower than in 2nd and 3rd day PP group, there was statistically significant difference (p <0.05). The pH value, KT group of 1st day,compared toKT group of2nd day and1st, 2nd,and3rddayPP; KTgroup of3rd day, 2nd and 3rd day were lowerthan inPP, and there wasstatistically significant difference(p<0.05).PO2value, K group,there wasno statistically significant differencecompared to other groups(p>0.05). PO2value,3rd dayPPgroupwas significantly higher thanin Shgroup andKTgroup, and there wasstatistically significant difference(p<0.05).PCO2value,Shgroup,lowerthan in3rd day KT group, higher than the 2nd and3rdday PPgroupwereobserved and there wasstatistically significant difference(p<0.05).2nd and3rd day KT group, was significantly higher than 2nd and3rd day PP group and there wasstatistically significant difference(p<0.05).MPOvalue, KTand PPgroupon all days, is higherthan inShand Kwereobservedand were statistically significant(p<0.05). 1stand 3rd dayKT groupwas significantly higher thanPPgroups, and there wasstatistically significant difference(p<0.05)CATvalues, 0,1, 2 and 3 KTgroup and1.and3daysdayPPgroup,there wasstatistically significant differencecompared withShand K(p<0.05). CATvalue; 2nd dayPPgroup,there wasstatistically significant differenceaccording toShgroup(p>0.05). 1, 2 and 3 daysin the KT group, was significantly higher than 2nd and 3rd dayPPgroup, and there wasstatistically significant difference(p<0.05).Wet / drylungweight ratioin the KT group, there wasstatistically significant differencein Shand Kgroups(p<0.05). Wet / drylungweight ratioPPgroups,Shand Kgroupsthere was no differencestatistically(p>0.05). 3rd day KT group, there wasstatistically significant differencecompared with 2nd and 3rd daysPP(p<0.05).Score of pathology and leukocyteinfiltration ; 0,1, 2and 3dayKTgroup and1, 2,and 3dayPPgroupwas significantly higher thanSh and Kgroup, and there wasstatistically significant difference(p<0.05). Score ofpathology; KTgroups,was significantly higher than 3rd day PPgroup, and there wasstatistically significant difference(p<0.05). Leukocyteinfiltrationscore,3rd day PPgroup, there wasno statistical difference betweenShand Kgroup(p>0.05). 1st, 2ndand3rd day KT group, was significantly higher than3rd dayPP group, and there wasstatistically significant difference(p<0.05).RESULTS: Our study, preparedwith amechanismin rats, showingisolated pulmonarycontusionbe formed, after which the experimentalsampleas a model forfuture studiesonlung contusion. In addition,isolated pulmonarycontusionin rats withblunttrauma, the use ofpropolisin the lungreducesthe severityof thecontusion, have shown thatthe protective effectsandminimize theinflammatoryreaction.
