Deceptive aspects of life in the Holy Qur'an and ways to avoid them

That the worldly life is deceptive is emphasized in the Holy Qur'an. The person sent to the world for a test has been advised to be careful about the ornamental and attractive aspects of the world. Almighty Allah, who created everything in the universe on balance, also wants people to live a life in a way that ensures this balance. Human life comprises two stages: The life of this world, which is the first stage, is quite important in terms of gaining the hereafter. Human being determines his fate in the hereafter, which is permanent, through his attitudes and activities in this worldly life. Since the worldly life and hereafter mean a single life, it is not quite possible see one independent of the other. In consequence, what is recommended to us in the Holy Qur'an is to request happiness both in this world and in the hereafter. People are deceived because they fall into the mistake of choosing one of the lives of this world and the hereafter. When he/she adopts the lifestyle determined by Allah and proceeds in accordance with the sirat-i mustaqim, he/she will be protected from all kinds of unrestrained behaviors and faults. This study in which we attempted to notice the deceptive characteristics of the worldly life, that is repeatedly underlined in the Qur'an and to expose what needs to be done in this regard, consists of an introduction and three parts. In the introduction part of our study, having expressed the subject, objective, and method of the research in the first part, the concepts regarding worldly life are analyzed and then the general view of the Qur'an and hadiths on worldly life is briefly mentioned. Lastly, it has been tried to show the various attitudes of people with regard to the worldly life. In the second chapter, it has been touched upon the deceptive characteristics of the worldly life and the Satan's traps in these deceptive characteristics of the worldly life. As to the third part, by giving place to the reasons for being deceived by the worldly life, the methods of protection were tried to be identified. While preparing this research, first classical works, and then the works that have been written by now on the subject were utilized.
