The surah of al-Muddaththir and its exegesis in terms of Quranic sciences

The Al-Muddaththir, ranked seventy-fourth among the 114 surahs in the holy Qur'an, is a Meccan surah. With regard to the timing of its descending comes across the first years of the Prophet, and its place as the presenter of the mission to the Prophet (s.a.v.) it has great importance like all surahs. Receiving his name after the first word of its first verse, Al-Muddaththir, the surah generally speaks of matters such as the Hereafter, the wrath of hell and the fate of the unbelievers in the Hereafter. In this study, the introduction establishes general information about the surah first by giving information about the purpose, importance and resources of the thesis; and the first chapter, by including the essential subjects in surah tafsir such as the name of the surah, the reason of its revelation, the time and place of its descending, the content and the grace of the surah, gives additional information about the surah. In the second part, the Al-Muddaththir is examined with regard to the ground works of Ulûm al-Qur'an in the context of the Ulûm al-Qur'an topics, which are determined to be related to the surah. In the last section, by presenting a short and brief tafsir of the surah, the study is concluded. Key Words: Surah, Tafsir, Al-Muddaththir, Qur'an, the ulûm al-Qur'an
