Abstract (EN)
The fifty-second surah as in the order of Mushaf and the seventy-sixth in the chronological order of revelation; Surah at-Ṭūr consists of forty nine verses. It was revealed after Surah al-Sajdah and before Surah al-Mulk in Makkah. The surah opens with swearing upon the Ṭūr Mountain (Mountain of Sinai) where the Prophet Moses was honored with salutation of the God and it is named after the mountain. It contains warnings and descriptions about the after-life, evidence of existence of the Prophet (Muhammad) and the Qur'an, gives a piece of good news to those who will ascend to the heaven and urges the Prophet (Moses) to be patient against the attitude of unbelievers and continue to deliver his the God's message. This study gives foreknowledge about the surah and analyzes the surah in different aspects within the framework of Qur'anic sciences and tafseer (interpretation) in specific. Before the interpretation part, as the backbone of our study, the surah is analyzed in terms of the Qur'anic sciences it contains in the light of the previous works of Ulumul Qur'an (Qur'anic sciences). Thus it is analyzed in terms of linguistics and rhetoric, as well as its structure. After that the surah is analyzed with a holistic approach in consideration of well-known tafseer bil-riwayah and tafseer bid-dirayah works (interpretation of narratives and wisdom in Qur'an) together with the information obtained throughout the first phase of the study. This study aims to reveal the Qur'anic sciences mentioned by the Surah at-Ṭūr and the way these sciences appear within the contextual structure. Moreover, the study analyzes the surah in all its parts, in terms of its structure and the previous interpretative works about it by restating the information found in relevant sources.
