Abstract (EN)

June 2023 The Qur'an is a divine guide sent to direct human behavior. This divine book addresses many subjects related to all aspects of life, including the reflections of moral conduct on individuals. We base our study on the exemplary or non-exemplary behaviors of individuals, as good or bad personalities, that are also to be found in the Qur'an. It is possible to find models in the behaviors of these individuals that can lead humans to either spiritual elevation, known as ehsen-i takvim, or to the lowest depths, known as esfel-i sâfilin. The Qur'an, with a narrative method that prioritizes guidance, presents the lives of individuals other than the prophets who exhibit positive and negative behavioral examples for the purpose of drawing various lessons and admonitions. The aim of this study is to examine thematically eleven good and evil personality examples, excluding the prophets mentioned in the Qur'an. Our goal is to investigate the concepts of good and evil personalities through various perspectives they encompass in the Qur'an by analyzing them through exemplary or non-exemplary individuals. The fundamental concepts relevant to personality are addressed in the research, and they are exemplified through verses as they appear in the Qur'an. Relevant sources from fields such as psychology and exegesis are utilised during these descriptions. Efforts have been made to provide information about personality, concepts related to goodness and evil, and how they are addressed in the Qur'an before giving information about good and evil personalities. Historical information about the personalities discussed in the study is presented first, followed by their portrayal in the Qur'an. Keywords: Personality, Good, Evil, Thematic Approach.
