Philosophical taʾwīl of the Qur'an -The example of Ibn Rushd-

This study deals with the search for two bases. The first part is the theoretical and grammatical basis for Ibn Rushd's philosophical interpretation. The second one is the practical basis that Abu Alwaleed tackled its general approach to explain Qur'an. In fact, Ibn Rushd's philosophical interpretation requires a good interpretive ability to clarify the text with the reality and up-and-coming events, and to avoid creating misconceptions, or creating concepts that are not among the purposes of Qur'an, or concepts that distort people's beliefs. Actually, these main purposes that were decided by Ibn Rushd took The Dogma as its main concern as well as lessening the gap between religion and society depending on finding good entrance to interpretation, and establishing methodological bases in the interpreter's mind. This helps to identifying Abu Alwaleed as an interpreter who made use of the sources of interpretation (Usool Eltafseer) and the sources of philosophy (Usool El phalsapha) to study two issues at the same time. The first issue is purifying verses from any explanation that is far from the intended meaning. The second issue is stopping some groups of people who have conflicts between 'religion' and 'philosophy', supposing that there is no relation between them, through the Qur'anic evidences that show the importance of philosophical approach in interpreting what is necessary in the Islamic Law (Sharia). This research consists of three parts: an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. The first chapter; The Establishment of the Philosophical Interpretation, studies the concepts and factors of establishing. The second chapter; "Ibn Rushd's Approach to Understanding Qur'an, is a theoretical study of the origins of Ibn Rushd's approach in 'Reconciliation between Religion and Philosophy.' Final the third chapter, 'The Application of Philosophical Interpretation according to Ibn Rushd,' is an applied study in interpreting Qur'an.
