Abstract (EN)
Sorghum sudan grass is a forage plant resistant to drought and high extreme conditions and is used especially in animal nutrition. Global climate changes and political uncertainties can affect the food chain, which plays a fundamental role in animal nutrition. Sorghum sudangrass offers an alternative solution to these challenges. Water constraints and management challenges further highlight the importance of sorghum sudangrass. Silage corn and other annual forage crops, which are widely used especially in our country, not only put a strain on nature but also cause economic difficulties. At this point, sorghum grass attracts attention with its resistance to drought situations or water management problems. Balıkesir province is one of the leading cities of Turkey in terms of animal husbandry and animal existence. In this city, in order to minimize the problems that may occur in animal nutrition, solutions are sought for the cultivation of sorghum sudan grass instead of silage corn and similar plants. By using multi-criteria decision-making methods, the most suitable growing regions of sorghum sudan grass should be determined and this information should be used in terms of sustainable agriculture for the activities of existing animal enterprises. This strategy will provide an effective solution to economic constraints while supporting environmental sustainability.
