Kure cupper mine (1800-1850)

In this study, some evaluations were made about Kure copper mines- in the first half of nineteenth century-by utilising the documents from Ottoman archives. The work went through into three parts; namely the history of Kure, Kure cupper mine and Kure cupper mine into Ottoman archives. In the first part, from Ancient time to Ottoman goverment the communities and states which were dominated Kure and its around, were evaluated. In the second part; general information about history of mining was given firstly and then the subjects such as mining in Ottoman, the methods of running mines, the income of Kure cupper mine, the mine workers and Kure cupper art were all handled. In the third part; the transportation of Kure cupper mine and its delivery to Darphâne in the first part of nineteenth century, the usage of Kure copper in palace cuisine and Ottoman Army, the complains about mining asurance, employment, the conditions of mine workers and some knowledge about their villages. Beside these, some quite important subjects were determined about Kure-i Nühâs mine by utilising the documents from Ottoman Archives in the firs half of ninetennth century.
