Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to examine the relationship between body composition and water performance of rowing athletes. 8 male and 7 female adolescent athletes aged 15-19 years with a training age of at least 3 years and training at least 4 days a week from Sinop 1853 Sports Club participated in the study voluntarily. The athletes were required to be healthy, not to have any chronic or acute disease and not to have any mobility restriction due to any injury for any reason. Body composition measurements of the athletes were determined by Inbody 120 Bioelectrical Impedance Body Composition Analyzer. İn order to obtain water performans of the athletes they were requested to row along 2000 m straight, at race pace and their times were determined using a delta LP-60 brand chronometer. The mean and standard deviation of the participants were calculated using SPSS 22 package program. The mean values of body composition of rowing athletes were as follows for girls: body weight 62,34±7,76 kg, body fat percentage 25±4,22%, body fat weight 15,74±4,22 kg, skeletal muscle weight 25,84±3,12 kg, body mass index 23,11±1,86 for boys; body weight 71.02±4.22 kg, body fat percentage 6.77±3.34%, body fat weight 4.82±2.47 kg, skeletal muscle weight 37.78±2.50 kg, body mass index 20.95±1.32. Records of women's data show that there is a negative relationship between their length of 2000 meters and their height, body weight and body structure muscle weight, and this protection is permanently meaningful. According to these results, as the boy's body weight, age and body weight muscle weight increased, performance improvement was enhanced. No such difference was observed in the data for men. According to gender-based data, it has been observed that hierarchical women have better performance. As the boy's body weight, age and muscle weight increase, performance time changes positively.
