Developments in monetary policy and economic effects in the globalization process: The case of Turkey

The Republic of Turkey has been using different monetary policies and exchange rate balances since 1923. More than ten factors can be counted as effective on exchange rate balances and monetary policies. One of them is the changes in monetary policies in terms of globalization. In this master's thesis, it is aimed to analyze the developments in monetary policy in the globalization process by comparing the world countries and the Republic of Turkey. In this sense, Turkey's monetary policies from past to present have been analyzed. In addition, the monetary policies followed by Turkey before and after 1980 were followed and the monetary policies implemented by the Central Bank of Turkey during the crisis periods and the effects of the crises on the central bank decisions were investigated. Here, the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic period on Turkey's monetary policy are also emphasized.
