Abstract (EN)

In the thesis, which examines the macroeconomic effects of free zones in Turkey on the country's economy, the concept of free zone is discussed. In this section, the concept and aims of free zones and the types of free zones, as well as the emergence of free zones in the historical process, are discussed. In addition, the economic effects of free zones are examined, and their positive and negative effects are discussed. In the thesis, free zone applications in the world are examined. In addition to free zone practices in developed countries such as Germany, USA and Japan, free zone practices in developing countries such as China, Russia and Azerbaijan are mentioned. In the study, free zones in Turkey are discussed. In this section, the emergence of free zones in Turkey is mentioned, in the examples of Aegean, Mersin and Bursa, free zones in Turkey are discussed. Afterwards, the macroeconomic effects of free zones on the Turkish economy are analyzed and their effects on growth, foreign trade and employment are analyzed. In the study, a deductive qualitative approach was adopted in order to obtain more efficient results. The method of research by asserting the accuracy of a phenomenon based on more than one condition is called deductive approach. Keywords: World, economy, impact, free zone, Turkey.
