Abstract (EN)
Though the arguments that globalization is actually an illusion and that it has been put into circulation as a different version of colonialism by major colonialist countries have been put forward by various theorists, in today's world, cirumstances of integration and similarity in many areas, in cultural, economic and political and communication fields, reveals the reality of the global world that we are all on the same ship. There is a very complex structure that affects each other between globalization and mass media. While mass media and communication technologies are the most important pillars of the globalization process, mass media have been affected by the globalization process in terms of ownership and international publication. In the process of globalization, television broadcasts have become global, and especially dramas have turned into a global product exported all over the world. In recent years, Turkish dramas have become productions that are admired not only in Turkey but also abroad, with the rise in quantity and quality. This success of Turkish dramas has made significant contributions to the country both in terms of export and international recognition. Questions such as what should be done in order to maintain this success of Turkish dramas, which is an important sector for our country, the reasons why our dramas are watched abroad, and how globalization affects our drama sector constitute the aim of the study. Structured interview technique was used as a method in the study. For this purpose, interviews were made with 19 sector employees in digital area and the data obtained were analyzed according to the descriptive analysis method. Some conclusions were reached in the study. Dramas generally stand at a local point even though they are partially affected by globalization and Turkey's geographical location and quality content affects watching of drama. Changes in manufacturing practices must be made to maintain success.
