Abstract (EN)

This study is about ?The effects of globalization on national identity and culture? consists of three main chapters.First of all, the historical development of globalization and the economic, political and the cultural format of globalization were analysed as a term(conceptual frameworks) (theoretical frameworks) in the first chapter, Then the history and the origins of national-state system and the national-state system and the process of national identity in Turkey were examined(analyzed).In the second chapter, which is about the national identy and the perception of nation-state in globalization process, nation-state was defined as a term then the impacts of globalization on the nation-state?s future and various perspectives about this subject were discussed. In addition, the evolulation of National Identity in the eu membership process and the evolulation in the national sovereignty system were mentioned briefly.In the last chapter entitled globalization-indigenisation, the multiculturalism which is caused by globalization, the popular culture and the impacts of these terms on the national values were also discussed. Then local nationalist trend, local nationalist movement and ethnich recovery were discussed and finally the impacts of globalization on national identity were analyzed in Turkey.In conclusion a review was performed on the article.Keywords:Globalization, national-state system, national identity, nationalism.
