Abstract (EN)

With the advancement of technology, the use of radiation-emitting devices has led to an increase in radiation exposure and caused people to be exposed to diseases related to the radiation emitted by such devices. Recently, there has been a focus on shielding materials that can minimize the radiation emitted by such devices. In this thesis study, seven different alloys were obtained by combining lead (Pb) element with Bismuth (Bi), Indium (In), Tin (Sn) elements. The produced Pb0.5Bi0.45In0.1; Pb0.6Bi0.4; Pb0.5Sn0.5; Pb0.7Sn0.3; Pb40Sn60; Pb60Sn40 lead containing alloy samples were carried out using a Ge detector in the photon energy range of 59.5 keV, 1172 keV, 662 keV at energies emitted from 241Am,60Co and 137Cs radioactive sources. The linear absorption coefficient (LAC), mass absorption coefficient (MAC), half value layer (HVL), tenth value layer (TVL), mean free path (MFP) and effective atomic number (Zeff) obtained for the armor quality were compared with the experimental values and theoretical (Phy-X/PSD) results.
