Abstract (EN)

"Relationship Between Narrative and Legal Rulings in Al-Qurtubi's Tafsir: Examples of the Narratives of Prophet Yusuf and Prophet Musa" In this study titled "Relationship Between Narrative and Legal Rulings in Al-Qurtubi's Tafsir: Examples of the Narratives of Prophet Yusuf and Prophet Musa," we conducted an examination of Al-Qurtubi's approach to narratives in his tafsir, known as "al-Jami' li-Ahkami'l-Qur'an." The first section focused on more theoretical aspects related to narratives and legal rulings. In the second section, we analyzed how Al-Qurtubi approached narratives, the legal rulings derived from them. Our scholars followed different paths in their ijtihad. Some scholars, such as Al-Qurtubi, have also drawn attention to the parables. In conclusion, Al-Qurtubī saw parables as a source of ethics. However, upon examining the rulings derived from narratives by Al-Qurtubi, we observe that they mostly pertain to secondary (tâlî) matters rather than primary (asli) ones. We see that he did not derive many of his rulings directly from the parables, but rather he used the parables as evidence for the rulings he already had in mind. Perhaps if Al-Qurtubī's mind were to be reset and his previous knowledge were to be destroyed, he would not have been able to reach the conclusions mentioned in our study only through the parables.
