Enterprise resource planning and a research on accounting information flow in an industry company

In global competition markets, enterprises need to use information technologies in accordance with the dynamic structure of the current period. In a global competitive environment, there is a need for contemporary software for effective monitoring, management and reporting of each stage of the products. With the effective use of these softwares, which are called as Enterprise Resource Planning and contain all the functions of the enterprise, provide companies a competitive advantage. Enterprise Resource Planning system integrates all functions of the enterprise by using a software platform and database to increase profit by using operating resources in the most efficient way. In this study, the basic sub-systems of accounting information system and the processes that constitute this system in an industrial enterprise which has switched to a new enterprise resource planning system as of January 2018 will be examined with the understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning. The cycle of accounting information flow is divided into groups, information is collected through one-to-one interviews with the departments that are part of the processes in this cycle and information flow chart, errors in the system and errors in information processing are examined and it is aimed to contribute to the literature. Finally, the results and recommendations related to the research are indicated.
