Corporate social responsibility activities action research on the effects of private school students on academic performance and classroom behavior

Social responsibility has an important role in voluntarily meeting the needs of the society. Corporate social responsibility projects that are created by enterprises with this understanding meet the needs of the society and enable disadvantageous individuals to benefit from these projects. In addition, it may lead to enterprises introduce their selves and create positive changes in society's perception. In the education system, students may misbehave show undesirable behaviors in a way that disrupts the course flow. These behaviors can be seen in both public and private schools. Teachers generally face such undesirable behaviors and continue their lectures with verbal warnings, punishments and ignoring. Elimination of this negative situation with the understanding of corporate social responsibility may change the perception of students and the school in a positive way. The important point in this research is that private schools support the understanding of corporate social responsibility and how the organization will have a place in the eyes of the parents.Whether the understanding of corporate social responsibility will affect the academic achievement of students the scarcity of similar studies in the local literature; reveals the importance of resear.. For this purpose, this research conducted between 19 November 2018 and 13 May 2019 in a private school in Sultanbeyli district of Istanbul. Action research method was used and 22 students in two separate groups were included in the study. It was ensured that the students participated in the corporate social responsibility project personally and after the participation, the project was presented in a meeting to the parents. Parents' meeting, student's group interviews, written exam results, the behavior of students in classroom were included in the analysis process. According to our results, corporate social responsibility projects have positive effects on students' behaviors and achievements and the perception of private schools in society.
