Perception of corporate sustainability practices: An application in Kütahya Organized Industry Region

Sustainability has been studied in many different disciplinese specially in the last two decades. The main reason for this is that the content of the concept includes many different fields of science and affects future living conditions. In this study, the concept of sustainability is discussed with in the frame work of business science and the corporate sustainability practice of an international business is examined. In this context, the aim of the study is toreveal the perceptions of the employees of an international enterprise about corporate sustainability practices. In addition , the study examined whether employees' perceptions of corporate sustainability differ in terms of demographic variables. The study was conducted with the participation of 274 people working in an international enterprise operating in Kütahya Organized Industrial Zone. In this study, descriptive statistics were determined for the employees to perceive the applications of the enterprise regarding corporate sustainability and its sub-dimensions. In addition, Mann Whithney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were performed to determine whether there was a difference between the demographic characteristics and perceptions of the employees. As a result of the analyzes, it was found that the average of the employees' perceptions about the corporate sustainability dimensions of the enterprise were close and high level compared to each other, while the social sustainability dimension had a high eraverage than other dimensions. In addition, in social sustainability practices, permissions, financial performance in economic sustainability and was tereduction in environmental sustainability have come to the fore front. In the comparisons made with the demographic characteristics of the employees, it was found that perception of corporate sustainability dimensions differed according to income level and perception of sustainability practices differed according to departments.
