Evaluating efficiency of participation banks in terms of corporate and commercial banks : Turkey sample

ABSTRACT EVALUATING EFFICIENCY OF PARTICIPATION BANKS IN TERMS OF CORPORATE AND COMMERCIAL BANKS : TURKEY SAMPLE Financial system that brings together fund supply and demandant has a dynamic structure. In Turkey, 2005, flat finance corporations which are converted into participation banks, started to receive share in sector at the same rights with the conventional banks. This thesis aims to evaluate experienced developments of partcipation banks in the field of corporate and commercial banking in the period from 2011 till 2015 in Turkey, showing flat finance corporations' stages of establishment in Turkey, giving information about banks' head office and branch segmentation. The thesis consists of three parts.In the first part flat finance systems' arguments , occuring of system, development in the World and in Turkey were tried to be explained.In the second part,detailed information about segmentation of firms in Turkey was given, SME, corporate and Commercial Firms' criterias of determination were tried to be told.In the third part, participation banks' in the sector of corporate and commercial banking, years 2011-2015 in balance sheets ,experienced developments were tried to be measured with the techniques of literature review and data collection. Studied years, between 2011-2015 in the area of corporate and commercial credits, participation banking share was decreasing year after year. It is aimed to enhance its share in banking sector together with foresight of public participation banks which are entering the sector ,reversing this situation , increasing share of participation banks in the area of corporate and commercial credits and enlarging assets. In crisis period, participation banks which keep up their inside dynamics, differing from conventional banks, have strengthen expectations of obtaining big gains in the long term in the field of corporate and commercial credits.
